Heads up, eyes up, the size of the stage space quickly becomes spectacular for creations gathering thousands of spectators.

1988 Philippe Riou, director and choreographer, creates the Compagnie Les Passagers.

It opens up a new space based on the vertical stage, inventing a visual, theatrical architecture that engages a multidisciplinary approach to artistic exploration.

The Cie Les Passagers, a pioneer in the field of vertical stage and dance, takes shape, the family expands with Christine Bernard, and so do the spaces. It’s the start of an adventure that will summon and bring together artists from the 4 corners of the world.

Dancers, musicians, acrobats, comedians, painters, aerial technicians, all contribute their skills and share their knowledge, because – and this is one of the Cie’s strong points – the transmission of knowledge and practices will enable everyone to find their place in the current creation and develop new talents.

Artists and technicians, one at a time and then the other, a versatility enhanced by the richness of the creations that bring together a team of some twenty artists.

Performing in public spaces and offering free shows are fundamental parameters.
