WALLDANCE ARCHITECTURE
A wall, like a man, has a purpose. This goal inevitably meets another man, who may or may not pursue the same goal … or take other paths. Faced with the wall, there are always as many ways as our imagination can conceive.
This project is based on choreographic work aimed at researching new forms specific to wall and vertical dance. It allows a radical approach to movement, stemming from the constraints imposed by the harness and rope; a host of movements and sequences find their source directly from the environment in which the creation takes place. We therefore need to requalify each movement, analyzing it to enable choreographic development.

Walldance Part 1/2/3″ is a suite of 3 dance pieces, representing 3 different gestural, musical and technical worlds. Part 1 evolves in a Worldmusic environment. The presentation is divided into 3 parts: humorous discovery and taming of verticality, unison and choreographic mastery. The second part moves on to techno music. The aim: speed, cadence, repetition of the choreographic motif and dexterity. The 3rd part moves on to classical music. The theme: choreographic shifts in movement and environment. Unlike its predecessors, “Part 4/5ème” was created indoors, with a scenography that places the audience at the center of the space, the walls becoming screens and a vast stage for 3 dancers and 2 video artists. The video work was produced by the 8GG duo (Fu Yu and Jia Haiqing) from Beijing. Walldance #5″ continues the choreographic forms specific to dance on walls. On the banks of the Seine in Paris, the dancers’ body language meets the plastic work of street art, calligraphy and poetry writing. Together, dancers, visual artists and calligraphic poets build an “emotional suite” of colors and feelings. An ephemeral opening up of urban space.
